Walk, Walk, Walk.

Yesterday was like some sort of reunion between six different people. When i say different, i mean different. Yeah, we have some things in common, but the differences outweigh the similarities.

But nevertheless, in our differences, there IS a certain kind of unity. (and yeah, they're the ones at the right side with all of the faces replaced. :p)

So anyway, yesterday marked Bonty's 17th birthday, and we all agreed to meet up at 7-11. Bonty is this crazy guy that churns up jokes about Us, and the rest of humanity itself. He's also the one that had to leave this city to settle at Cavite. He's the one that grouped us all together yesterday for his birthday.

It was just like Highschool. Heck, it was just like we had skipped class again(haha, yeah mehn.), but it was much, much cooler, as all six of us were present. Although arguably, Pronte, our resident balladeer, had to be picked up at his house, and we had to stand in the afternoon heat for ten minutes, it was cool. Really. Ahem ahem.:)

With the tropa complete and the occasional convenience store breaks, we made our way into cavite, to have lunch at bonty's house and spend the rest of the day at a mall nearby. Plans were made on the fly. It was practically spontaneous.

We reached Bonty's house for lunch uber late late. It felt more like dinner already. A very satisfying one, if i may add. Not only the food was great, but also the conversation. It was easy talking.

THAT, plus ice cream. Yum. :P haha.

Then off we went to SM Molino, where we landed at - guess what - the arcade. OMFS, it was really like high school. I was half-expecting to encounter some old classmates.

-------------------------------------------

I once wrote in here that i've realized thatthe journey is the destination. Truth be told, i think i had the most fun traversing a lot of ground, forcing my feet to walk and step across puddles and drinking the various things we could buy at the convenience stores placed across three cities.

Many times during the journey, we found ourselves lost, with nothing but a security guard to ask questions from. (Aside, i have this things with security guards. There are times when it's easy to approach them, and there are times that you feel that they're just there to kill people or to accept bribes. Guess it stems from watching too many documentaries and news shows, i guess.)

But it all chalks up to the moments gained. Haha, thanks to yesterday, i can now relate to my grandchildren how it feels to wander across three different cities. Yeah mehn.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So aun. Next week, i will be accompanying my mom as she undergoes her operation for the varicose veins. It's somewhat of a major operation, so it'll be for about five days or so. That means i'll be out there at Medical City(Yes, that IS the hospital name) for five days. I'm guessing it'll be real quiet.

Um. so.. if not too much trouble, can you please include my mom in your prayers? I know it's best not to worry, but.. aun. I love that freak. Thank you. :)

A Day at The Pool

Today, i spent the better part of the day at the pool. Due to the recent wart-burning incident, AKA hell, i was having 2nd thoughts about going to the pool and all. Even though the freak doctor told me it was perfectly okay to swim, i kept having doubts. I mean, we're talking about the lady that told me "Of course, the anesthesia wouldn't nullify the pain 100%" as she was burning my back mehn.

My mom is freaky, in the sense that she springs the invitation "Let's go to the pool!" as easy as asking what time it is. Of course, kids can object, but i really don't want an allowance decrease, haha.

So after much ado, we found ourselves driving to Water Camp at Laguna. The place itself was okay, really. Although it was obviously targeted for the younger audience(it only had one 5ft pool), it was pretty much okay. Eye candy.

I spent the morning reading Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass(Alice's second adventure) and was blissfully happy until 11, specifically when i turned the last page. Argh.

So i was forced to make a decision. It was either i stay put at the cottage and wait till everybody finishes their bathing( which i surmise would take a long time; accompanying us were my favorite pair of relatives with their son and daughter) Or i believe in the power of miracles and take a dip.

In the end, the heat won me over. I swear, it must have been 40 degrees or something.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The only thing worth mentioning about my dip was the fact that i lost my glasses. I can't see a fig without them, see? It started all because of the resort's attraction; The Lazy River Naturally, i had to try it. I cannonballed into the river stretching across the whole of the resort.

Which was a bad thing, as the "River" was only about three feet deep; it didn't even reached my necklace, or my chest for that matter.

As i surfaced, i was greeted by a rush of Blurry People. The appearance of the Blurry People could only mean one thing; I had lost a pair 5k glasses. (It's the lens, really. They need to make the lens thinner to fit the frame. )

"Ay Shit."

I dived again, which was pretty useless since i can't even see without my glasses, not alone under the water. Aray mehn. I approached the lifeguard and told him of my predicament.

"Ay, umagos na ho yun."
"Hindi nga manong?!"
"Oo. Umagos na yun"

Deep inside, i really wanted to punch the balls out of him. I mean, do your job, you frigging idiot! You're a lifeguard. You're supposed to save lives. If dad finds out what happened, i'm going to lose a part of my life. So do your job mehn!

Seeing as it was useless, i continued my search.

And continued.

And continued.

Finally, after encountering mom resting on the water stairs and telling her of the past events, she scrambled to help me find it.

She asked the same lifeguard i asked earlier, by the way. The lifeguard's response was the freaking same mehn. The freaking same.

"Ay, umagos na ho yun."

Thankfully, we found the glasses a few meters away. Funny enough, life has a way of playing around. My glasses were found by a pair of girls. I approached them and told them that that was mine. The older one with long hair smiled and gave it to me, while the younger one just giggled like a hyena.

We introduced ourselves, and after a while, i learned that the two were sisters and they were glasses-wearin' psychology students. We laughed about the fact that it was weird that we would just meet smack bang here, and in the weirdest possible manner. A lively two-hour conversation soon followed after that, spanning various topics, including a pretty serious discussion about politics. After that, we got up and ordered ice creams and wasted the rest of the afternoon talking.

Yeah right.

They just handed over the glasses, i thanked them sincerely enough, and swam away. Life isn't that cool to just hand out golden instances.

Much Ado About Nothing (I Hope)

This post will reek of otaku-ness. Promise. If you're not in the mood for nostalgia from a teen, you'd better stop here.

I remember watching Shakugan no Shana as a youtuber. I remember thanking the uploaders. I remember remembering the recurrent names on the youtube comment boards. I remember clicking the uploader's profile and searching for the videos the said person uploaded. I remember comments that go PEoPle ThAt wAtCh ThIs sHouLD gO OUt MOrE And WatCh MtV tO gEt A LiFE, Fo shizZle.. Then an argument would ensue, cuss words would be used, and then finally, the "soothsayers" comment in; "Why can't we all get along?

Then i remember the mass clean-up of licensed shows, and the Youtubers had to become Veoh-Ers.

Veoh was a welcome breath of freah air. Unlike youtube, the video was presented in a whole form, as opposed to youtube's breaking the show down into 3 pieces. It also gave the option of giving the commenters proper avatars.

Then there was another mass clean up, and i was forced to take refuge @ crunchyroll.

Crunchyroll makes up with quantity what it lacks in quality. In exchange for a pretty organized search network, the quality was considerably lessened. The only problem here is the comment board. There are just too many commenters, it's a hassle to CTRL-F your own comments.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I feel old. As in real old. The shows that were popular with us two years ago are now beyond popular; they're enormous. Back then, we felt that we were, in a sense, leading the way. I mean, we were sort of lucky to catch up in the fad back then; the anime uploading and all of that stuff. It was therapeutic. After a hard day, it was the chance to kick back and let the kid inside out. If i were to estimate a number,we were a few thousands, i guess.

But now...

I just don't want the whole EMO issue become the ANIME issue. I'm guessing you probably know how it is - back when emo wasn't all the hype, it was simply a word that described a kind of music. People even found being one cute.

But when the word emo changed into EMO, more conditions were placed. If you were one, you would immediately be branded as suicidal. If you weren't, you would be branded as uncool. If you told people that you didn't care about how they think, you would be an arrogant piece of crap or EMO itself.

In various forums, people discuss about the pros and cons of EMO. Then someone would make a bad comment, cuss at everybody and boom. Another heated argument is born.

All because emo got popular. Then people realized that it was akin to suicide, made a 180 turn, and began dissing people that still liked the sound.

I don't want that to happen to anime. I don't want it to be smothered in politics.

But i guess it's can't be helped. I already saw Bleach and Prince ot Tennis notebooks at the mall. Besides, i don't own the companies, i can't convince people to stop watching the good shows, and i sure as hell resolve not to stop them from watching the good stuff.

Maybe this is for the better. Who knows? Personally, i think the people from the anime cultural bracket are more responsible.

There's still hope yet, and i always try to believe in the optimum possibility.

I Kinda Miss the Old Morning Headaches.

My mom has this Philhealth card, the ones that allow you to have consultations, basic services and some procedure works for Free. So after much persuading on her part, i went to see a dermatologist a few weeks back. There i learned that one of the free lab procedures, aside from the consultation, were wart-removal. Out of curiosity, i decided to take part. Turns out, there was a whole bulk of requirements needed, so i only got to have the actual procedure done today.

Doctor: "Okay, asan na ba ung mga gamot? Dala mo ba ung anesthesia?"
Me: Opo, dala ko po. Ano po ung anesthesia?
Doctor: Anesthesia, to numb the pain from burning the warts. Akin na dali at mahiga ka na sa mesa.

It was at that instant that my warning bells kicked in. Anesthesia? Burning?!

After waiting for an hour for the anesthesia to kick in, the procedure itself was administered. It involved literally burning the warts, which, by the way, is viral. Meaning, i got it from some stupid person. No, don't ask me how.

So anyway, for the rest of the hour, i was flat on my back while a stranger was burning my back 23 times.

I tell you, it is not a pleasant experience. Even with the anesthesia on, it still hurts. Freaky doctor even got the nerve to tell me that the anesthesia wasn't supposed to nullify the pain 100% as she was already burning my back. Well, thanks for telling me in advance. Yes, i am being sarcastic.

Yeah, once or twice is an okay, yeah experience. Thrice is irritating. Any higher than that, and you'd like to drop the whole operation altogether.

And that's how i spent my Friday morning - in pain.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today, i grabbed a copy of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. Can't wait to read it. :D I also found a copy of E.A. Poe's Tell Tale Heart and Gaiman's Stardust and American Gods.

It was tempting. I spent three hours standing, deciding on what to buy. Yargh.

Good Morning.

Last night, the whole household was frozen in time by American Idol.

It was Surreal. Eerie, even. There were absolutely no people littering the streets. I haven't seen this phenomenon since Manny Paquiao's boxing matches. Freaky, mehn.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last night, i also made progress on my room. :P I now have a pretty huge(3x10) black and white collage on my room. It's pretty eye-catching, by the way. When you first open up the door, bang. A huge checkered thingamajig greets you. Yey. :P I guess i'll put the names of famous persons there, written in silver and gold metallic markers. Y'know. Einstein. Dave Grohl. Kris Roe. Haha. :P

Haha, pardon me. I'm just a bit proud.

Twilight Zone Mehn!

Today i woke up with a searing pain across my eyes, continuing to the back of my eyeballs, up to my brain itself. Araaay. So i was forced to wake up at 5 am and creep downstairs for a biogesic and neozep. As i was walking, i heard a faint pop down the soles of my pink and blue slippers, and realized that i had stepped on something. By the feel of it, it was something oily and crunchy.. Guess what i stepped on? (CTRL-A if you've finished eating. ) A cockroach.

So i'm guessing this day will be weird, possibly weirder than all of the rest. Already i feel like i'm in the twilight zone.

And oh - there was the stuff about my dream.

I dreamt that i was having tea and dough nuts with a motley of characters - a hare, a man with a top hat and a mouse inside a teapot. We were discussing the effects of strawberry on chocolate ice cream. The hare and the man with the top hat were all for the notion of mixing strawberry and chocolate to create a new kind of flavor, where as the mouse and I were vehemently refusing their idea. It escalated to the point that i threw the mouse upon the other two and they mixed, creating a...

and that's where i woke up. Sigh. I wonder if this is an omen/sign or something. I haven't done anything considerably bad in the last few days, soo. Oh noes. This must be divine karma from my former self.

Hmm. Alice in Wonderland-like dream? I guess i must be wary of of crawling down rabbit holes.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Speaking of former selves, do you believe in that? I sort of do, and i sort of don't. If someone tells me that i was a weirdo in my past life, then i don't. If, however, someone tells me that i was a squirrel or .. i dunno, Socrates in my past life, then i will readily believe in him.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'll tell you something i believe in. I believe in signs. No, not the kind that tell you about the apocalypse. I believe that if you listen and observe carefully enough, the planet emits a music, and that music is a sign that can tell us what to do.

Being Random.

Laughed my guts off when i first heard this a few years ago. It's Konata from Lucky Star singing Dragonball Z's 1st ED, Chala Head Chala

Notes.
Konata Izumi is one of the main characters from the anime Lucky Star.
Konata Izumi's character is an otaku, which is by itself, weird, since most of the otakus are guys. I guess this makes her character endearing to all of the otakus that can relate. Trust me, i know. haha!

Aya Hirano, Konata's seiyuu/voice actress is also the ultra famous seiyuu behind Suzumiya Haruhi, one of the heroines of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, one of the animes to gain popularity abroad.

Legendary. :P

Yesterday..

Yesterday

1. I accompanied two of the greatest people to UST for their enrollment.
2. I learned that excessive detergent washing can lead to a disastrous whitening of a black shirt; like someone spraying powder all over your back.
3. I realized that sweat is a tiresome thing. Remember to breathe every half step.
4. UST campus is really large. Okay, biased observation, especially if you compare to UP city.
5. Haha, just remembered my 1st time visiting UP. Haha, it really looked like a city.
6. Hanging out with a friend while waiting for another friend to finish his application is pretty cool, especially if you've had the whole "waiting-for-the-other-to-finish-experience" with the both of them.
7. Traversing a mall, especially one as large as MOA, is very taxing and appetite-inducing. Especially if you decided to skip breakfast.
8. I think Sbarro is a lot like Starbucks.
9. Note to self;never eat Sbarro unless absolutely necessary.
11. Today, i had the most fun at the playground. Some things never change.
12. I walked into timezone and came to the realization an hour later that arcades aren't really my thing; i'm at home better with controllers, not joysticks.
13.i brought a real cute orange umbrella. haha, it's just a plain orange-colored umbrella, but heck. it's cute anyway.
14.haha, i have a liking to all things orange.
15. In conclusion, we waited for at least half an hour for a bus to take us back home. Dead-tired feet and dried wits kept us laughing for the said half an hour.
16. Funny how quick our guts laugh whenever we're waiting for something almost non-existent.
17. We decided to search for another vehicle to take us out of there.
18. Luckily, we saw an FX STATION, which of course had our desired route painted in neon green.
19. i felt really glad.
20. then it hit me that i was stuck in a cramped position(we were seated in a row meant for three people, but with four people occupying those three little seats.
21. then i came to the conclusion that the saying The Journey is The Destination is oh so TRUE

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All in all, i liked this day, and this statement not only stems from the fact that i got a copy of R. Dahl's The BFG and Plato's The Last Days of Socrates Shame there was no Zafra, Gardner, Coelho or Lightman though. Tsk tsk.

That aside, yeah! haha, i finally got a hold of my course curriculum, and was pleasantly surprised to find that we take up Logic and Theories of Learning next sem! Yey! Shame i still have College Algebra and Trigo to go through though. Arghh.

It's Been a Getaway.

I'm feeling sort of..elated happy today. I just don't know why. Haha, maybe it's the weather - cool, breezy and just with the right tinge of incoming rain. yeah mehn. :D

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last week, it hit me that my current bag wouldn't last with all the ruckus i have to do every morning, a complex ritual that involves a lot of activity on my part.

So yesterday, i managed to coerce my friends into going to southmall with me. (ever wonder whenever people say lakwatsa, it always involves a mall or another. Haha, i'm not really complaining - i don't recall a lot of solid memories before a mall was built.) So after completing my errands(bank deposits, cooperative stuff), we pushed our asses to southland.

My first thought when i entered the mall was okaaay, so we're not in paranaque anymore. Then it was closely followed by yeah mehn! haha! pwedeng pweds manggulo, wala naman nakakakilala sa min dito eh. haha!

after circling around the mall, i was forced to make a decision. which bag to buy? (yeah, i know. trivial.) AM blvd's The Beatles bag was tempting - it featured the band members in Andy Warhol style, and i love Warhol designs. There was also another with a that just screamed Alternative in neon lights, due to the fact that it looked.. well. alternative-ish.

But in the end, i picked a brown bag with the wordsmanila classic up front. There's just something about stuff that says "Philippines" that gets me. Haha, i could just imagine the spaniards yelling sucker! while i shelled out 500 bucks.

Sadly, i found out that there was no bookstore located there. Well, yeah, there were two or three, plus the all purpose national bookstore, but i lost my faith in those kind of stores the day i got a copy of a book(forgot the title, sorry) at a price half those stores were selling. haha. :P

Then we assaulted comic alley and were surprised to find out that there were posters of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu for sale already. If i'm not mistaken this series debuted in 2007 or 2006. Back then if you watched anime, you were already branded as a geek/otaku. But look now.

Looks like we're a whole nation full of geeks, eh?

Then we saw a ps2 rental shop, and we were blissfully happy for the next two hours or so. haha! call us geeks, but looks like we're still kids, after all. I think it's pretty relaxing; it looks like there are things that are never really meant for change. Nah, it's not only relaxing, it's comforting too. :D

To wrap things off, we walked the long way to the Jeep station, engaged in conversation, eating waffles - me munching on a cheese waffle, AJ savoring his Belgian chocolate and Arvin's his Meat loaf filled(which i swear to try next time).

Then i thought of college, and the new people i'm gonna meet.

I silently swore to still keep not only this, but also all of the close friends i've gathered throughout the years. Yeah, new friends are great. But i think having new and old friends is way better.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I sound like Mary Poppins. Or worse, one of those kiddie shows that promote friiieendship and looooveee.

Oh my God.

I sound like Barney now. Great. Hey, reader. The day you notice my blog's entitled Deep Sea Happiness, call me. I'll be in your debt forever.

Ame da!!

Yesss! I am so FREAKISHLY and BLISSFULLY HAPPY that it rained a few moments ago. Yeah mehn! wooo! wooo!

That aside, i just had to post this. :) Cute.

The Unsaid Things and The Things That Should be Un-said

I think i'm in trouble today for playing too much. No, i still don't own a new game console, and the decrepit ps2 is now in ps2 heaven. What i'm saying is, i think i have lazed around enough already.

I know it's a bit early, but i find myself thinking about the future. "Maybe this is just a phase" - yes, i know, i know. But what a freaky little phase this is.

I look back a lot too. There are times when i wish i could go back and whisper to the old me "Hey, dumbass. Get some sleep!" or "Quit whining and talk to her - she's also human, dude!" or "the answer's x=32, and question no 33 is wrongfully stated!"

But i guess i can't do that now, can I?

Regret. It reeks of regret here, and i don't like it one bit.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's the rough translation, taken from a comment on the same vid.

"I'm Konna Makoto-17 years old. My best friends are two guys Kosuke and Chiaki.
I'd always thought that the three of us would be together forever. That is, until the day I got my strange powers.
Time...leap?
'Yes, time leap. You can't go back in time right? But you, Makoto, can'
Go...back in time??
'You don't have to be so surprised, time leaping isn't something so rare'
Eh?! nonono that's definetly not normal!
*song starts* Go!
*The Girl who Leapt through Time*

Time Waits For No One.

Just an anime i found about two or three months ago. Urge you guys to watch it, or urge me to lend you a copy. Erm sorry, selfish remark.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm so tired. I don't know what caused it, and that's what makes it tiring even more. Maybe this is what they call existential dilemma - the kind where you can question your existent and you realize how small and insignificant you are tonight, and all of the nights to come.

It always happens at night. In between 7pm and 11pm is... a void. A void that ultimately sucks you in and whisper thoughts that aren't right for a catholic.

I hate being like this. I could be a more productive person in society, but when that void mentioned above hits me, my legs crumble, my vector shields melt, my krypton armor explodes, blasting me off to a shell i can't break out of. This is the pits.

And yet i go on and gripe about it. I can't do anything about it, and yet i still gripe about it. wth is wrong with me?

Let's conduct an experiment. The last time i felt this way, i recall having a tired body, an aching head and the urge to do absolutely nothing. Back then i consumed a lot of food, and i remember being happy about it.

Which is exactly what i did today. Gasp.

Oh. Thinking back, there was also this one factor, which I'd better not post here. Sorry, it's too personal and posting it in something so public as a blog would be akin to personal and social suicide.

Sigh. I feel so useless. Everything is changing, and i can't do anything to cling on to some comfort. Help me.

I Hope It Rains Tonight

Finally. After an afternoon of tweaking stuff here and there, i've finally made my own layout! Waaai! :D Although i'm kinda missing the old orange background, i decided that maybe this is the best scenario. At least it's a start, right?

So aun. If you're reading this, then maybe that means that you have nothing else to do. If you do have nothing else to do, then can you please leave tell me if your eyes aren't strained at all or anything. Eyeballs in there? Good.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nothing much happened today. Mainly because i was busy tinkering stuff out out. What's note-worthy, however, is the fact that Rb(with a capital R) made this blog, Fiction with a capital F. Basically, it's like a pooled blog, but with a sole theme - fiction.

I'm digging that idea. After all, many people these days don't even read anymore. They just watch what's up on the TV. And if the guys at a certain anime were right...

It's a conspiracy.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That aside, i've recently heard this awesome band - MAE. Multisensory Aesthetic Experience. Look them up on youtube. They sound great. I bet they're gonna do great.

Baka - Nee.

I guess the summer job wasn't so bad, after all. Yeah, you get your hands dirty, you get to work your ass off, you scramble for a chair to sit upon, you greet everyone and help everyone, you get to know what the word "stupid people" really means for just 108 bucks a day, but...

naah. haha, i can't think of any buts. Summer job is the pits.

Er, wait! There is one advantage of that particular summer job. At least you get to know how people react in a work environment. In line with that, all i can disclose here is that in a work environment, you are bound to be at your best shot. No matter how sucky everything is, you're supposed to be freaking Mary Poppins. You have to smile, not only to your customers, but also to your co-employees.

Grr. Haha, i think that's all for this chronicle.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I want to fix my room, but my mp3's gone AWOL, thanks to my bitch of a sister. I just can't seem to work without music. Sure, i can do stuff, but it's a real different thing when there's music around.

Arghhhhhh. If bitch sister doesn't find where my mp3 is, i'm taking out my water guns.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Made plans to go to UST this 16th. Gonna accompany two of my friends in their enrollment. Lalang. If by some freaky sort of thing i don't come back, at least i have made a log of it here.

Amazing Race 2, anyone?
